Application Development

  • Do you need a new system and don't know what to do.  I also provide software selection and implementation services.
  • I work on many platforms and in many languages.   I don't do .NET or ASP, though, so don't ask me.  I'll tell you to go with LAMP :-).  See my FAQ's page to find out what LAMP is.
  • I also do custom iPhone apps.  This is a new area for EFG Consulting and I'm very excited about it.

  • Fixed and streamlined the Access 2007 membership database for an international nonprofit, NAAMA.

  • Designed and implemented a simple, effective timesheet system for Cement Division IT (Lafarge)

  • Lafarge Projects have included 2 large-scale upgrades to the Oracle Financials ERP system, Sarbanes-Oxely IT compliance for Oracle Financials and the SSC, support of the Blue Circle Cement acquisition for Cement; integrated backup systems; support of the Project ONE JD Edwards implementation; transition of Accounts Payable to Toronto office; multiple office renovations; DR planning and testing; and ongoing support and process improvement for the FSC Southfield.

  • Performed SSC DRP (Disaster Recovery Planning) Testing in 2003, 2005 and 2006.

  • Led a 15-person team, as project manager through the full project lifecycle, to replace currently manual billing processes for recurring and one-time charges for dedicated and data billing with an automated billing system.  The new system, now in production, will provide competitive advantage and large increases in revenue for the company through its contract administration module.

  • Led a 10-person project managing the migration of billing from an acquired company system to the main Global Crossing billing systems globally from project initiation to planning.

  • Led a 10-person team, through the full project lifecycle, to develop and implement external customer network fault visibility as a requirement of the contract on time and within budget.

  • Led an 18-person team through the full project lifecycle in the installation of a manager of managers application for the integrated management of the national voice and data networks of Global Crossing on time and approximately $500,000.00 under budget.

  • Led a 25-person team through the full project lifecycle to upgrade the operating system on the 21 long distance telecommunications Switches.  Project completed on time, within scope and under budget.

  • Assisted a Global Cellular Distributor to reconcile and balance the Accounts Payable and Inventory Suspense control accounts to the Financial Statements to the penny for the first time as Inventory lead of a 3-person team through the full project lifecycle.

  • Designed and developed the second phase of a Returns Management Control System at a Global Cellular Distributor, which included automatic merchandise replacement and return to/from the manufacturer/carrier.  The project was retired mid-way through development due to organizational changes.

  • Designed, developed and implemented the financial portion of a Returns Management Control System at a Global Cellular Distributor.  The project was completed on time and within budget.

  • Designed, developed and implemented further enhancements in cooperation with the ERP software vendor, to streamline cash application for an International Electronics Distributor.  The project was completed on time and within scope.

  • Designed, developed and implemented customized Endura Enterprise Accounts Receivables at an International Electronics Distributor.  The project was completed on time and within scope.

  • Implemented enhancements to general ledger account functionality in Endura Enterprise Resource Planning for a Global Cellular Distributor.  The project was taken over from another manager right before systems testing and implementation but still completed on time and to scope.

  • Developed and implemented custom Rapid Invoicing for Accounts Payable to replace the Endura Enterprise Accounts Payable Invoicing for a regional Grocery Franchise

  • Provided application support and system and database administration for a National Medical Clinic Management Company, including custom modifications to Endura Enterprise ERP Accounts Payable and General Ledger.

  • Migrated a customer relationship management (CRM) application supporting Nissan and Lexus customer service and 100 internal customer service representatives from an IBM RS 600O to a HP K200 Unix platform.

  • Developed and implemented operating, development and strategic planning and implementation standards for the UNIX systems segment of the company, approximately 75% of operations.

  • Managed the UNIX Systems and TCP/IP Networks Section of the Systems Division.  This included responsibility for strategic planning, policy implementation, applications support, production and systems support of a heterogeneous country-wide WAN including 9 UNIX servers running a variety of platforms and applications, and supporting over 400 people, as well as various other responsibilities.  Platforms and Applications included IBM AIX, HP-UX, SCO, AT&T UNIX, Netrex Firewall, Informix, Oracle, Fourgen (Endura) CASE Tools, C, ON!Contact, (CRM) etc.

  • Designed, developed and implemented a customized Accounts Payable and General Ledger system interfacing with a custom Drop Shipping and Purchasing System for a regional retailer.

  • Developed and implemented an automated Sales Audit system to interface Points of Sale to Corporate ERP systems for a National Truck Cap Retailer to replace a previous failed installation of the application.  The project was completed on time and exceeded customer expectations.

  • Designed, developed and implemented of a completely custom Drop Shipping and Purchasing system for a regional retailer.  The project was completed on time and exceeded customer expectations.
